Oh, my goodness. I just looked up when the "sad time" happened. It was 16 years ago!!! Time does fly. :)

I have dealt with "it" since I was a young man. I am certain it began sooner but I became aware of it over 45 years ago. I had an abusive childhood and that takes a long time to come to terms with but beneath that obvious source of sadness/depression was something else. As the years go by, with the perspective that comes with time and distance, I have come to terms with the abuse. But, there remains a deeper sadness that a lifetime of exercise cannot exorcise completely. When I am outside in nature that sadness is almost completely gone and remains gone for long hours. There is about humans a fundamental loneliness. Some of us chase distractions. I believe that when we left the clan life behind us many years ago, we as a species, never recovered our inner balance. That's my theory, anyway. Wes
